Could you please advise me as to what I can expect from my boat Insurance in respect of obtaining help with repairs, surveyors involvement, time span for claim to be settled/repairs authorised. What expenses should I expect to incur?

This is a very serious question and I really would appreciate any facts/experiences you can offer.

I think you need to provide more details. A clear cut claim for damage, for instance, would be settled more quickly that a claim for stolen boat (allowing time for possible recovery of stolen boat)
If claim is not so clear cut, time will be taken for legal wranglings.
