Despite being up there with the best gadget freaks, I've had my trusty old 2 megapixy Kodak DC280 for 5 years or so. Its rugged build, and incredible quality for only 2MP have kept me satisfied for way longer than I would normally expect. (even changed SWMBO's twice since I bought the camera).

However, I've thirsted after a DC with a much larger TFT screen for some time. I've treid buying TFT TV's andPDA's to show the photo's electronically, and even a colour laser to print hard copies, but all are too much hassle, when you just want to quickly review them in the pub.

I've now spotted the Kodak DX6490, and as well as a 10x optical zoom, it has a 2.2 inch TFT !!! A size which is very important!

And all for £300.

Has anyone bought one yet?, or indeed know of another DC with a large TFT?

(BTW I only photograph boats, just in case someone tries to point out that this is not a photography forum)

Thanks Brendan, I didn't realise there was so many!

Spoilt for choice now.

the larger the display, the more power required to run it, don't expect the batteries to last as long!

That might be your idea of consumer heaven, but it's not everyones ideal camera.

I've been through several DC's and now have three. I keep the old Olympus 2Mb for sea voyages and don't care if it pops it's clogs but takes great pictures.

I've a Sony that fits in the pocket, and another that takes better pictures

It depends what you want to do and what the budget is?

Jeeeezz that's scary!! (my kid just ran screaming from the 'puter room!). J/K!!! Fuji cameras are IMHO the best, especially for P.C. application.
Had an F601 for a couple of years now, and I have not had a minutes bother.
SWMBO works in a photo shop and her gaffer swears FUJI!

Well I did just that on Sat.

Bought a Kyocera L4V.

Never knew they made DC's, only laser printers (seems to be connected to Yashica though).

It's a 4MP, 3x opt, in the usual 'bar or soap' compact size, but it's got a whopping 2.5" TFT !!!!!, almost covering the whole back of the camera.

Only takes 2 AA's, so they last about 40 seconds! In fact it won't even power up with cheap AA's.

And to think I swapped all my nice Nikon FE2 gear for it! Still it had been unused under the bed for 4 years since I bought my DC280, and it was 22 years old!

Now I think I better go and find a 36ft Moonraker.

I just love those large cabin windows!!! /forums/images/icons/wink.gif
