A possible boat for us . Do any posters have any experience of them? How they handle? How well they take to the ground? Models either 34 ft or 37 ft.

You need to try http://www.myhanse.com where you should find at least one owner with a drop keel Hanse. My deep keel one is just being prepared for delivery right now!

I've just ordered a deep keel 371. When I went to visit the dealership in Hamble point marina There was at least one lifting keel owners boat in the same marina. I've not sailed one myself so couldn't comment, but we did look around the 371 lifting keel as it was the only one available and the interior was good, keel box not very intrusive. The 371 and 341 fin keelers have got very good write ups in terms of performance and handling and the company is owned by a serious ex racer, and the boats are designed by judel and vrojlik, who generally only design good fast boats. So although the lifting keel will obviously be somewhat of a compromise, with the design team and magement behind the company its unlikely to be too much of a compromise and of course the starting point of the fin keeled yahct is very good

Not sure where you're based but Hanse at Windermere have got a new 34 with liftkeel as a test boat, (ive just ordered a 312 lift) i've been told by hanse that there is some losses up wind but apart than that not much difference. you do get twin rudders with the lift.
