Was pondering the idea of buying a Hanse 540,as one does, sitting on the loo reading a dutch yacht mag;but I noticed there seemed to be no means of anchouring on the bow.I will have to go back to my 2nd chice a mac 26!!!

Mogy, I think you let the 'paid' crew do the anchoring work... while you sip your G&T or read your mags on the loo!

I'd not noticed that before. Still, my man does all that stuff.

Well at least it seems to have an anchour affixed. The dutch magazine showed a scantily dressed dutch woman further aft ,oviously to distract the readers attention,A bit early for G&T s ,before breakfast!!

Most people thought so. It's been for sale for a while. (may be sold now) It was used for corporate jollies, so G&T jokes were not far off the mark. Indeed they were fact.
In fact when they put it on the lake the wardens went and moved all the shallow water buoys to take account of it's draft (although it's the shoal draft model).
This officially closed some channels I'd been using up until then.

Isn't a boat that big a bit wasted on Windermere? (if thats where the pic was taken?)

Perhaps the ALUMINIUM rudder stock will be OK in fresh water.

To anchor a hanse 531/540/630 you will need to refit most of the anchoring system including putting the supplied anchor on e bay, the supplied windlass on a garage sale, and look for a good stainless steel welder to modify the ctapult system.

Good luck
