Hello Folks,

I am looking for a decent Traditional looking Hand Powered Windlass for an oldish gff schooner 63' loa.
Something like the old Simpson Lawrence oil bath, just a bit bigger, would be great.

Does any one still make them or refurbish them, or do you know were I could buy one? We promise to give it a good and caring home.

Thanks

Simes

You can have the one sitting in my garage.
Simpson and Lawrence, double action, came off a Miller Fifer and its far too big for my 30 footer.
The galvanising is in good condition and the action is smooth. I have no idea about the gypsy size. There's a rope pawl too.
I will take a pic tonight and email it to you if you PM me with an interweb address.
Now the downside... it is in Ayrshire and you are on the IOW.

Many thanks Gordon, I have PM'ed you with my e-mail address.

I only get on the net every now and again, but am on for the next 10 days.
