Hampton Court

Been there twice in the past six months and it has been fine with no overstayers as you still have to pay for the mooring there.

First 24 hours free then you pay for up to four days.

Half empty this morning - but then we didn't want to stop!
No obvious long term stayers - but then DE are enforcing for Royal Palaces

Teddington - well-managed - just two that were there last week

Walton - full - of boats that were there last Tuesday.

Desborough moorings full and the cut nearly full of long-stayers - now advertising their presence with posh signs saying 'Liveaboard No Entry' - or similar.

Gridley Miskins - still empty. Hope has been removed to Sunbury Drydock- probably temporarily.

Egham - empty except for us!

So gone are the days of using Desborough cut for engine trials then.

Or maybe it would be appropriate.

I remember somewhat exceeding the speed limit more than once many years ago.

I've been avoiding going up the cut and go round the old river because was told that the lovely old Salters steamer "Henley" has been horribly butchered and would be a depressing sight.

Things change. Overpopulation and the competition for living space is really hotting up in this country now. This is just the beginning !
