Had a very minimalist cruise this year, in three weeks we only made it as far as Walton Backwaters. It was fantastic fun, we ended up anchored in Hamford Water and spent time exploring the creeks by dinghy and picnicing on Stone Point. Very lucky with the weather and it felt like being back in the Caribbean (although the water was not quite so clear).

Even managed to do the shopping by dinghying down to Walton Yacht Club and wandering up to the Co-op.

Cultural highlight was a night at the Frinton Summer Theatre.

Lovely to hear you enjoyed a really nice cruise in local waters without going far, and thank you for sharing.

You hear so many stories of adventure and long distance sailing its good to be reminded that there's so much fantastic cruising available in our local, muddy creeks and rivers.

The East coast is wihout equal as a sailing ground (or maybe equalled by West Scotland).
