Read a bit in YM about the visitors pontoon on the hamble being shut for visitors at the moment, as the crown estate is doing winter pile maintenance on the river and using the pontoon to move boats on to during this period.

Does anyone know if it's just shut in the week and weekends its open. Or are there any other options for an overnite other than the marinas.

TIA

If you don't fancy the big marinae, try Universal, Crableck or Deacons.

Alternatively, it's 10-1 there will be spare residents moorings by now, with people coming-out for the winter, and the HM office is quite good at allocating these if asked nicely and with a day or two's warning.

It is currently shut ALL week, including weekends & is fully populated by resident boats that have been moved for mooring maintenance. There is some room on the visitors mooring opposite Port Hamble or, as stated elsewhere, ask the HM for a temporary berth elsewhere.
