I have just been told that Catamarans are not allowed up the River Hamble.

Now I don't really want to go up the Hamble, but I feel discriminated against and am working up a head of Self Pity (currently at the bottom lip stage).

Is this discriminatory? I would promise to take extra care not to capsize in the Hamble; because thats what multihulls do /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif.

Should we organise a protest raid??

An aged sailing acquaintance held, for many years, the European Record for Capsizing Offshore Multihulls. Four, I think, when I stopped counting.

We've fallen a bit out of touch, lately, but I do know he purchased a house with frontage and mooring on the Hamble.

Maybe - just maybe - your news and the above matters are connected.....

Do you have a link to an official line on this...
