Should all for stay furling systems be fitted with diverters on the genoa halyard?

I think it depends on the angle of the halyard against the stay, less than 10 degrees springs to mind them you need one, but I'm most likely wrong !

No not all .Some such as Plastimo and pro furl,and Facnor have a donut on the top of the foil to prevent wrap.
Also if the diverter is fitted ,Furlex,Sailspar Harken its usually the best solution to prevent the problem.
