Got rid of mine at the local housrhold waste site, where they recycle fridges and freezers, aparantly has some thing to do with the way the gas is disposed of. Chaps there quiet helpful, wich i must admit is a rareity for SCC.

Kim,
I was talking options for engine space protection with Great Yarmouth fire and safety in April 2000 and their line was that they would accept it for recycling untill the deadline, after which they would charge for its disposal. I guess the situation is still the same. Deadline is next December I think.
Regards,
Eddie

If you are not sitting down please do so now.If you start to laugh and hurt yourself don't blame me,

The OFFICIAL line for disposal at the Montreal Convension when most countries agreed to phase out Halon or BCF Fire extinguishers was,

wait for it

BURN IT,

yes that is the only known 100% safe way to dispose of Halon so it cannot enter the atmosphere,
cheers
