Halogen oven

I bought a halogen oven for the boat recently. It was a smaller 7 litre one that was on offer at Robert Dyas for £15 a couple of weeks ago. It might have been my previous post that you saw.

It's actually bigger than I expected and can hold a small chicken, so big enough for cooking for one or two people. So far I've used it to cook pies, chicken portions, and on Sunday I cooked roast lamb and roast potatoes in it, and they've all come out really well, just as good if not better than the oven at home. Power consumption on the one I have is 800w, so pretty good really.

Definitely the best cooking gadget I've bought, wouldn't be without it now, will probably another one for home.

We have one on our barge. But do find it will not cook pastry, so we only make the top of a pie now! even a bought in Pizza the pastry will not cook properly, anyone else have this problem? Otherwise a great little machine.

Second vote for the Remoska. I love mine and cook everything in it. It will apparently cook anything that would be grilled or baked...I don't halve miss it whilst we are at anchor!

Or try the Wonderbag, mine arrived last week and I've used it every day so far.

I've done the same, with a wide-mouth vacuum flask for about 20 years, great for casseroles and boeuf bourguinon.
The Halogen (infra-red) oven has a major benefit - I do a lot of cooking in the oven, but in 35C ambient it becomes more than a little warm - the halogen oven might solve that problem and @ only £27.98 delivered it isn't such of a gamble.
