In this month's April issue of Yachting Monthly the boat test is the Hallberg-Rassy 372.

Chris and myself spent over 24 hours testing the boat, in freezing temperatures in Sweden.

We sailed, slept, cooked, washed up, showered, etc on board her.

To accompany the feature we've added an extra Hallberg-Rassy 372 page full of goodies to the website, these include 360º clicky and dragable, zoom in and outable images from all of the cabins. Video of her sailing. As well as link to the Hallberg-Rassy pages of the Yachting Monthly Boat Test Gallery where you can see lots of extra photographs that we didn't have room for in the magazine. You can even view them as a slide show

Ho do you the 360°s? Lots of pictures and then stitching? Or a fish eye lense?

Both /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I use an Atome rotator, with a 8mm lens on my 1dsmkII

The rotator has stops at 90º and the lens is a 180º fisheye. So I take 4 photographs, (N,S,E,W for simplicity) and the rotator is angled slightly upwards so it covers the roof (Zenith) of the interior...this however leaves an empty square and my tripod at the base (Nadir) of the image. Rather than photographing the floor and doing lots of photoshop jiggery pokery on the bottom of the image I just put the YBW.Com logo (this also stops unsavoury peeps nicking it and calling it their own /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif ) this also happens to be less work for me.

Those four 180º images are then put into a piece of software called Autodesk Stitcher, which stitches the images, converting it into a spherical image. I then have to go through and make sure all the image is dust free, and correct any of the joining lines. That image is then output as a cube (because I need a flat side to put the YBW.com logo on) I take the base of the cube and cover my tripod with the YBW.com logo, put it back into the software with the corrected base, and then export it as a quicktime movie.

Sounds quite long winded, and it truth it is a bit, but I think it works well, and the extra effort is more than made up for in image quality. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I've seen this yacht on the Düsseldorf boat show. I think it's much nicer than the 342 model. Especially the cockpit is much nicer as the cockpit seats are much more comfortable. Main reason for this is the lower floor level (relative to the seats).
The biggest drawback for me was the almost total lack of storage space in the cockpit. You will struggle to even store the fenders, other then hanging them from the pushpit.
The biggest problem for the HR 372 on the boatshow was the adjacent placed Comfortina 39. A much nicer boat overall (for me at least) and for roughly the same money!

Yes but who has really heard of Comfortina and will you ever be able to sell it? Back to the thread about Swedish boats. The only big thing about HRs is their ability to be resold.
