Don't know about the pier but we usually pick up a free buoy off Levington, not too much shipping once you're there.

Yes, I don't think the 'rules' have changed in three years. Can be a bit bumpy there, but I suspect you know that. You might have a quieter night upriver at Wrabness on a mooring?

hi guys n gals, many thanks for all the helpful replies, 'Karouse' many thanks for the offer but we are 35' so dont think we will fit, i've spoken with B/sea & we should get in ok, will look you up as we will be there for a few days, Cant wait to see the old place again in was my home port for 30 years, i know its changed not allways for the better eh,

Halfpenny Pier on the outside could be a bit lumpy this weekend if the wind stays in the NE. Better if you go on the inside It is a friendly spot with helpful staff and a variety of eating/drinking places within a short distance.

Free for short stops during the day and reasonable for overnight. They even have showers!

Spent 07.30 to 12.00 on the outside on Friday.

Technically the piermaster should have charged me but it was quiet....

I enjoyed a very nice walk round old Harwich. It must have been 6 years ince I last did that.

The old place is still rather run down but I got the impression it was slightly less so than on my last visit.

Presumably when the Bathside Bay works kick off there will be considerable regeneration and it will suddenly be "discovered" and become chic!

Went there on Sunday and stayed over, ate at the Alma which was great value, (he had a monster Paella on a burner in the garden and although i am not normally a fan of this dish, i have changed my mind!) There were some extremely pissed prople alongside late afternoon, all having a good time no problems though. £15 for the night on my 42ft boat, the charge is made if you are there after 4.30 at night, free before hand.
