half penny pier

That's it - vivacious. She told me she'd escaped the London rat race to live by the sea. I was moored on the Pier t'other week and asked Mike about buoys just up the Stour. A little while ago jerrytug said these were harbour board moorings and used for overflow from Pier. Seems that situation has changed - club have taken them over from the harbour board but in practical terms still OK to pick up a vacant one while following usual courtesies - stay on board and leave if owner returns.

What's the depth on the inside like at the top end? Was going to go in their a couple of weeks ago, there was a spot all the way in... But I was nervous with our draft....

Think it is quoted as CD of 2m. When I was there the other week see no reason to disbelieve it.

Still a gastly berth - on the inside you have the protruding metal work from the pontoon / piles to contend with.

Eaten in the Alma twice now as part of a group and can only say it is pub grub & nothing special.

Ahhh... So best raft up!

Anyways... We haven't been there and it's another cheap spot to try for a night with the lads... But I'll be buggered if I am gonna go on the outside!

Shame the ferry doesn't run till midnight!

Even just a single run to harwich at 7pm and a return at 11 or 11.30 on Friday and Saturdays in the season would be a great thing...

It you is likkle like wot we is, you can get inside on the pontoon leading to the steps which is the best berth by far

Yes that was my regular corner, and it creates a much-needed boat handling exercise for the fishing boats when they want to refuel ;)

We normally go inside and we draw 6'4" and have never had an issue. Outside last night was fine actually.
In Chatham marina tonight.
First time down here, can't get over how big and deep the Medway is.
There was custom car get together in the shopping center which a great bonus.

American car night first Thursday of the month always worth a visit if it's dry. I had to sell my F150 to cover a Fox's bill that ran away a little, but came home on Thursday and started searching for a replacement!

I'm always amazed at the machinery on show and engineering skills shown in some of their creations.
