I know this is an unusual query and its a long shot but here goes. We have friends visiting us in June and we will be in the Levkas/Preveza area. One of the party has dietary requirments and can only eat halal meat. Does anyone know if such meat is available in the area. I cant say that I have heard of a Muslim community around there but who knows. We will have a car available to us.

Do you have to provide the guest with documentation of origin :disgust:

Omg. Where is the world going to... Religion everywhere!

Teach them how to fish...

Greece is not a muslim country. So they can stick to vegetables or try local food and try to adopt their behaviour to a foreign country - as we do when we visit muslim countries and have no access to beer or “gyros”.

You are unlikely to find Halal meat in Lefkas/Preveza. More likely in Athens. Don't despair though because the Greeks prepare many excellent vegetable dishes.

really? Since when is a rabbi an imam?

Because the restrictions are, broadly speaking, the same, many Jews will eat halal when kosher is not available and many Muslims will eat kosher when halal is not available. However, the more observant on both sides will care about the ritual as well as the the results and for them, as you suggest, kosher and halal are not interchangeable. Best for the OP to ask her/his friend if kosher will do. If it won't and if halal is not available, it's probably easiest just to go vegetarian for the duration of the visit. Once you've ruled out meat, halal is very much easier to comply with than (orthodox) kosher, which is quite extraordinarily complex. The acceptability of bread, for example, depends on the religious observance of the person who switched on the oven in which it was baked.
