After leaving Lymington last Sunday (in the pi**ing rain) destined for the (soon to find out) non existent Bournemouth airshow I was horrified to find out that my boat at WOT would hardly even reach 22knts.
I had been out about a week earlier and all had been perfect so I was sure that after the rather painful experience of trying to get on to the plane (and the subsequent difficulty actually trying to keep it there) my engines were in some way buggered!!
Anyway after lots of worry later it was decided that it was probably a good idea to get a lift and scrub.
After the scrub we popped out in an extremely windy and choppy Solent to confirm that she was back to her former 'punchy' self!
With a big head wind and against some nasty chop we reached 35knts in a flash before we turned round and beat a hasty retreat back to the marina.
Job done...
Here are some pictures.
It might not look it but it was blowing a hooley so it was quite interesting getting her in to the slings.
I don’t care what anyone says - when your boat starts lifting out of her habitat your stomach twists a bit
Oh my word!
Praise the lord for jet wash machines (and thanks to the guys holding it of course).
Sat in the slings.
Back where she belongs!
I am so glad that the lack of power was simply down to a dirty hull and drives and actually thoroughly enjoyed the day!!
