19-2017 Ha’penny pier refurbishment works[/h] Mariners are advised that on or about Monday 6th November 2017 pile replacement works will commence to the wooden piles of Ha’penny Pier, Harwich. The works will be carried out using a long reach excavator working from a 16m x 12m pontoon moored at the pier. The works are expected to last approximately 3 weeks.
Vessels engaged in the works will display lights and shapes as required by Collision Regulations and will be exhibited throughout with a listening radio watch maintained on VHF Channel 71.
All mariners are advised to navigate with caution in the vicinity of the works and must:

  1. Proceed at the minimum speed possible conducive with safe navigation.
  2. Ensure adequate clearance from work construction craft
Details of the repair works can be obtained from Harwich VTS on VHF channel 71.
