Hopefully you all agree this is boaty enough to be posted...

I am currently five days into a fourteen day challenge to only drink water, no beer, no coffee or tea, no Pepsi, Coke or juice of any kind, just water.

Why? Well, I am doing it to raise money for the RNLI and that is where you guys come in.

I wasn't sure how I would cope giving up coffee (and beer) for two weeks so refrained from asking for sponsorship until I knew I was capable of meeting the challenge. Now there are only nine days left and I am feeling confident!

Being honest, if those brave selfless men and women in the RNLI are willing to put their lives on the line to save others, then the least I could do is only drink water for fourteen days to help raise money to ensure they have only the very best equipment to support them.

I hope you can help me reach my target of £200 by donating as much or as little as you want. I have set up a 'just giving' page so you can just click and donate if you want to.

When you sit down with your next coffee or beer, spare a thought for those brave people in the RNLI and either drop a few coins in the local collection box or click and donate via my link above.

Have a fantastic weekend,
Thanks for reading.

Good on you. However, would you mind if instead I paid my donation to Hamble Lifeboat. They are funding for a new Station presently, plus they are having to spend a small fortune in getting their boats to comply with new safety regulations.

Also not many people are aware that Hamble is the only station, I understand, serving the Solent with paramedics always on duty at the busy times - Friday - Sunday. Remember Pete's Plums episode last year.

£20 from your fund will buy you a brick and get your name on their plague to be displayed in the new station once it is built. I understand they start breaking the ground quite soon.

Feel free to post a link for people to donate to this equally worthy cause.

Going to kick my shoes off this afternoon and relax with a nice cold cocktail...:encouragement:
