Dear All,

I thought the forum would appreciate some feedback regarding the H2O marina in St Jean de Losne.

We left Eastbourne last Saturday and moored in Boulogne where our 13m Cranchi was lifted by crane to be trucked to St Jean de Losne. The plan was then to crane her back in and travel the Saone and Fhone down to the Med. Amazingly everything went nearly according to plan, she was lifted on Tuesday and that cost just under €200, about what I expected. We travelled by train via Eurodisney and arrived in St Jean de Losne this afternoon. The boat had arrived early and was lifted back into the water without us being there.

I went to the H2O office to find out where she was and found her in another marina locked. Whilst in the office I duly paid the fee for the crane which was a staggering, eye popping, nausea inducing €430!

I went back to the boat and then had to track down the keys which were in the other boatyards office, they then asked me to pay for the crane! It turns out the Blanquard office would have charged me €200 and indeed expected it.

At this point my urine reached around 100* C and I went back to H2O to "have a polite chat". The answer was " Monsiour, ze price is ze price" and that was it.

I could understand an admin charge but literally doubling the price
Is outrageous. There are other marinas in St Jean de Losne, which itself is lovely, but the blatant and excessive overcharging is a disgrace.

My strong advice, despite the seemingly high number of vessels displaying the Red Ensign, is to avoid H2O and use another service provider.
