.....any actual boating going on up there ?... or as we all suspect Thames boating "season" starts on 1st August and stops on 1st Sept, possibly ending earlier if breeze goes above F1 (moderating) at any point :)

RCC ,had visit from a couple of Turbo 36 over weekend.
Thames boats, one was called White Night.

Teddington Lock was full of visiting boats on Friday. It's the only place for miles(apart from HCP)that isn't full of liveaboards. If I didn't live here I'd avoid this part of the river, maybe others are doing the same?

went to Cookham on Saturday and didn't arrive until about 2pm, but was plenty of spaces. The feild only had about 3 or 4 boats on it plus spaces still on the path.Very quiet travelling back on sunday, mostly day hire boats from Kris Cruises out and about.
I suspect the forecast wasn't great which may have put some folks off, plus maybe the world cup being on might have had something to do with it.

Busy weekend with the club boat handling, will be out next weekend though, and following that, the 50th anniversary club event!

Then up to Henley for the week...it's non stop :encouragement:

I waved at you, but was on somebody else boat!

C,mon ...seriously, in the past this thread by now would have been jammed with complaints about (lack of) tree trimming, dredging, rowers, inconsiderate mooring, noise from RADIOs and/or generators, speeding and conflicts with fishermen/swans etc.....!

any news of fresh prop strikes at Henley so far ?

I was out driving Rivertime most of yesterday, between Henley and Shiplake.
Very little movement of boats. What was moving was mainly open day boats.

Changed a bit today - steady stream of boats up and down Cookham reach - or perhaps I have only just noticed as I was trying to paint Neeltje.....

Went from Shepperton to Hampton on Monday, yes very quiet on the river! Managed to moor near the ferry and grab lunch at the Bell Inn. Sat with a cup of tea watching some hire boaters larking around the river, then returned to Shepperton and a night on the boat.

Popped down boat to give her a clean and there were a few private boats on the move mainley going up river.
Coming home I went over Cookham bridge and moorings looked full. Still the widebeam Sagacity or somthing like that moored in the sunny bit, Had been there since before winter. Do the council have restrictions on the length boats can stay?
