The rechargeable battery on my Standard Horizon HX270 has failed. I can still use the replaceable pack but feel it is now time for new one.
I like the 270 but it is no longer available. In particular I like the extra back for replacement batteries and that it is waterproof.
Can anyone suggest a good replacement and a dealer doing a good deal?

I've now ordered a new HX290 and a replacement HX270 battery from Cactus marine. I'll post back here with any comments on their service, which seems fine so far.

I bought a Raymarine HH from a forumite, it has replaceable , rechargeable AAs in a cassette, its also a very nice set to use. if the batts go duff Duracell AAs fit too for a stop gap solution

The HX270, which I've had for years, has an extra back for non rechargeable batteries. This is one reason I chose it. The Raymarine sounds even better but I've ordered now, story of life!

The HX290E which I ordered Wednesday evening arrived Friday morning. The price, including postage, was a little under £103.
The HX270 battery is due 21st May. Good service, so far, from Cactus.
