A groundbreaking ceremony was held today for the start of the shore works. The project manager (Fritz Christoffersen) was interviewed on Essex Radio. He said that work on the foundations for the 48 turbines would start in February and be completed by September 2009. The interesting question was what was the anticipated life of the wind farm. He said they had leased the land from the Crown Estates for 20 years and expected it to last at least that long. He wasn't asked, and didn't say, what would happen when their lease expired or whether they would remove all the debris.
So the chart you just bought for the Sunk scheme will soon be out of date again. More hazards on the East coast /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
