Following on from the other Gulper thread. How long can these run dry for?
If in shower and the gulper pumps water away from tray before I've finished/able to switch off. Or I've turned off water for a short time to soap up (small calorifier), can it run dry for a period and for how long?
Or will I have to turn it on and off during showering?
I know it says 'can run dry' on blurb but for how long?

They will run for hours or possibly days dry, so a few minutes won't hurt a bit.

+1 If you open one up (easy done it a few times) you'll realize that there's nothing there to damage by running it dry. Just a membrane moving slightly back and forth and the rack and pinion (if that's the right term) that is anyway running dry and greased for life.

cheers

Thanks for the info one and all. Appreciated.

Ahem ..my black water tank pump was left on for about 5 days.
Expected to find vast abouts of work and a sticky horrible mess. After batteries recharged everthing worked perfectly.
