Has anyone seen the ad in one of the boaty mags (don't ask me which one - the top one on the pile Mr B has in the loo). It's for a Gulet which was custom built to order by George Martin, who has just put it up for sale. It's just gorgeous ........ I want it !!!!!!!!!

Hi Pauline,

I think one of the boating mags did a piece on it a few years ago. Boat International maybe?

Hi beautiful, nice to see you back! The gulet looks very nice, and she would make a wonderful cruising home, buy it, stop peeing around! Cheap aswell. You get a lot in a gulet, go and see her, I,ll be in croatia next year! By the way, they are built to fishing boat standards, so are a bit agricultural in hull quality. Get her surveyed very well. Williams and smithells are a very good brokers.

Get your hands off her Tony, we're going to see her next month ! ;-)

Hi Colin honey - it's built differently from the usual Gulets I believe. George Martin had it custom built from scratch to his own specifications. We looking at it next month. I'm not selling the Riva though - couldn't bear to part with her.

On a different subject, how much are the moorings in Barcelona. We are thinking of wintering there next year while planning the following 2 years travelling.

Chartered a Gulet (22m) about 3 years ago and enjoyed it hugely.
So taken with it that I found a website for Aegean Yachts, who regularly advertise in the boaty press.

They are not built to the same high standards that we are used to in the UK and I would be a bit wary of one nearly 20years old, even if it has been in private hands from new.
They quoted me $300k for a brand new one with a steel hull and twin engines built supposedly to yacht standards. Wooden hull was cheaper. So for £200k you get brand new. Starts to put things in perspective!!

That said the piccies do look nice.

Hi Mike. This one was specially built for G Martin. Finest materials used and no expense spared. The full spec and more pics arrived on Saturday - it looks beautiful. We're are trying to get flights out there in the next couple of weeks.
