OK I'll give you a clue.
Somewhere between the river Trent and Scarborough.

Not normally considered an attractive place - hence why I tilted the camera upwards...

Very unfair! I visit Grimsby regularly on business and I like the place. Great fish and chips

In the area surrounding the marina, (the old fish docks) there are numerous derelict buildings, some very large.
Indeed, part of the old docks at the back of the marina (inaccessible thankfully) are derelict and collapsing into the water.

It's quite sad really, you can see that the buildings were once quite attractive and the whole area was buzzing with industry and activity.
Unfortunately since the huge decline of the fishing industry an entire quarter has been left derelict and deserted, and it's not pleasant.
Nothing has yet taken its place sufficiently to be viable enough to replace and regenerate the area, although I'm sure it's only a matter of time as so many other dock areas around the country have been successfully regenerated.

I've not found the f&c shop at Grimsby yet, is it within walking distance of the marina?

Are there not two marinas in Grimsby? One a club, very friendly but in a depressing part of town (looks like Beirut, all barred up), the other modern and expensive and nearer to the shopping centre. I bought some charts there from the hydrographics office for my first trip north.
