Looking to sail from Guernsey to Weymouth tomorrow. Would like to try going north from St Peter port and west about casquets. What is the best tide time to depart. Any advice welcome.

Groan....get the tide table out.

All part of the trip is the joy of planning. What works for your boat might not work for mine.

I wonder if we could charge for preparing Passage Plans and if there is any liability if things went wrong?

North going tide in the Little Russel starts at HW Dover +5.
I used to go West of the Casquets on my way down to St PP from Weymouth but went up the Race going back. That's because the current circulates anti-clockwise, so you run with the current both ways. Going up West of the Casquets you have to point West to offset the current.
