But will they really make it safer. Boats designed to have guard rails are designed to make getting forward with them in place easily and safely.
My boat was designed with a wide pulpit for when you are handing sails on the boom and a deep cockpit so you don't need a pushpit. To add to guard rails would make it less easy to get forward and I think less safe.
