Has anyone experience of using a Grundig Yachtboy radio to listen to UK stations when abroad, especially the shipping forecast. Info on what the reception is like, sound quality etc before I order would be useful to convince me that I am buying a good product. I have been unable to inspect one 'in the flesh' so nervous about ordering.

Well, it may be a rogue set - but I've had one for nearly ten years and though reception is good in most European waters for UK broadcasts, I've found it to be fiddly to use and there's an odd power-drain problem I've never been able to fathom - so, in a word, unreliable I'm sorry to say.

Our Yachtboy is probably about 6 yrs old now so may not be quite the same. It works fine and we seem to get MW & LW from abroad as well as we would hope, from the Channel to the Baltic. The button sequences are a bit strange, so you need to hang on to the instructions.
