Hi, I need to get a small GRP repair done - cosmetic rather than structural but needs boat lifted and done using correct vinylester resins etc.

Boat will be based Clyde, and the insurers have requested get two quotes, with suggested repairers including
• West Coast Marine Services at Troon
• Meadowside Marine at Inverkip & Fairlie Quay
• Silvers Yard at Rosneath
• Boatcraft at Ardrossan and
• DDZ at Largs Yacht Haven.

Any views on which of these would be recommended (to use or to avoid!) for such a GRP repair, or indeed any other recommended repairers in Clyde area.
Thanks

Meadowside Marine made good a hole in my deck for a 6" flue penetration. While the repair was good the colour match was poor. They also repaired a damaged area around the deck eye that one of my lower shrouds is attached to. That repair is excellent and they cut and fitted new Treadmaster. They also filled all the mashes and dents in my gelcoat caused by 44 years of activity and, excellent repairs, white colour. Later I found some cracking around the GRP upset on the aft cabin roof that holds the screw cover for the emergency tiller hole. The set screw holes for the flange had cracks radiating out. The repair is a mess, V notches cut out that were very large, daubs of GRP around the repair and generally a shitty job.

I would use them again but not the Glaswegian old guy with the long beard who did the emergency steering deck hole repair.
