I wonder if your ISP has a proxy server that has lost touch with the rest of the net? You used to be able to force a reload from the webserver the site was on by (I think) holding down Shift whilst clicking on Reload.
Have you tried emptying your cache? Edit/Preferences/ Advanced/Cache?

Some ISP (internet service providers) use a 'proxy server' to reduce the amount of internet traffic through their system. Their computers go to popular sites like YBW, and download the site and store it, then when you access a page on ybw, their computers send you the information they have directly instead of from here. (that may not make much logical sense, but they only have to go to the website or forum once from their computers, instead of tens of thousands or millions of time, and provide the results back to their users directly. Memory (disk storage on their computers) is cheap, while the 'bandwith' or ability to handle those tens of thousands or millions of request is an expensive overhead. It works best for popular sites)

This depends on their computers updating that information regularly. If their computers don't update, then you won't see the latest messages. The fact that both the forums you are looking at have stalled on the same date and time does suggest it's something between you and the websites you are trying to look at, as the date is not dependent on the computer you are using, or the websites you are trying to look at.

A few questions.
Who is your ISP (which company provides you with your internet access).
Which browser are you using to access the internet (eg Internet Explorer, and which version?)
If you go to the ybw forums where you see the old messages, then press the 'F5' Key, what happens?
You say ebay is only partially affected, can you elaborate?

First delete your temporary internet files
In internet explorer go to tools/internet options under the general tab under "temporary internet files click delete settings this could take a few minutes then click on "settings" make sure the button Marked "automatically" under "check for new versions of stored pages" is selected, then click on apply and OK.

I had a similar problem when my son loaded the Sims2 game onto my PC, every time he played it my settings changed on "check for new versions of pages" from automatically to never.
It only affected a dial up connection though now I have broadband it doesn't do it.

Good luck.

Ah sorry. The instructions I gave to empty your cache were for Navigator. If you're using Explorer use Spyro's instructions.
I think the option of using shift to force a reload is a Mac thing. I use both and get confused. Or maybe I just get confused. Why am I here?
