Well what a grey, wet and miserable weekend it has ended up. I didn't actually get out on the water what so ever. Just spoken to someone else who was due to be out for the whole bank holiday weekend and they have given up and gone home.

Did anyone have a pleasurable trip or perhaps a glimpse of sunlight?

Oh, we've had a brilliant time. Charted a boat at Fleetwood and sailed to Knot End on Friday, it was lovely and sunny.

Saturday was warm too and we did a curcumnavigation of Glasson Dock on a friends boat, before partying at the Lancaster Canal Boat Club Rally. Sunday, a bit cold but not much rain.

I had a delightful potter round Chichester harbour on Saturday. One of the rare occasions I managed to go out with swmbo and our two disabled girls. We even managed a trainer overboard drill - albeit from the fuel dock.

Yes, we had a good trip on Saturday as well, Brighton to East Cowes for lunch and then a gentle meander home. Probably our last trip in the boat as she is due to go to her new owner on Thursday /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif.

Cheers
Jimmy

Well lets see, bought a new boat only to find out that I now have to put a motor in it, outdrive I have is a yamaha so I was told that I need to get a new because there are no parts made for it anymore and if it breaks I am screwed, Father-in-laws reaerend went out in his truck so I have been rebuilding it for the last 2 days, went to the water park yesterday to appease the family only to spend a stupid amount of money and cutting my foot, lost my keys to my offic, house, jeep, and every lock I own, oh yeah and I have to go into work in an hour. Yep I have had a great weekend....

Unable to get out down here in the channel islands due to very rough sea (white horses as far as the eye can see!) and a screaming gale yesterday that snapped our TV aerial off the house last night!
Down to a force 5/6 at the moment, but at least it's sunny.
Watched a yacht brave conditions yesterday but soon returned to the marina...!
It's just sods law to have a long weekend and have cruddy weather eh?

No, belly up in engineroom all weekend (although to be fair that was always the plan).

Just spent today putting the turbo back on the port (HT6.354) engine on its new stainless steel extension box (thanks Lancing Marine, good replacement for the more expensive puzzlingly cast aluminium Perkins original), works very nicely, only to discover (cast iron) exhaust manifold itself is now failing (cooled by sea water).

So now faced with taking everything off again and (of course) spending more money.

Flip side, it's made me angry enough should have enough strength to strip out the leaking starboard engine exhaust hose and scrub out the area where the rubber silencer melted into the bilge.

Grmmmph :-(

I have been on the water all weekend, did wonder a bit when we saw loads of boats coming in on Sunday and we were going out, bit lumpy but it was OK, stayed dry too /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif due to being on a cabin cruiser, /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Ran the enignes three times.

Once to check that they started. Once to fiddle with injector piping and once, rather longer, to recgarge the batteries drained by running the Eb in the cold and wet of Horning. It may not have been much of a weekend's boating but at least we found out how to make the heater and hot water work:)
And found where most of the leaks are/will be/have been...
