Advice please on receiving GRIB (Weather) files. These files have a .grb file extension which MS Outlook Express regards as suspicious. However, by going to Tools - Options - Security and unchecking the box "Do not allow Attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus" I have never had any problem downloading these files on my Laptop. The Laptop has Norton AV2002 installed and enabled.
My Desktop PC, also operating Win98SE, has Norton Internet Security 2004; and I am unable to download GRIB files even if I disable Norton Internet Security.

I think Norton IS 2004 includes a firewall, and so there may well be a setting in there which is also bouncing the grib files. I had dreadful conflict problems with NS2002, ended up getting my money bakc and installing AVG anti virus and Vone Alarm firewall. No probs since then - and both these programs are free!

It has to be something to do with your security settings either in Windows (Internet Explorer) or you Norton security system. I have no trouble downloading gribs but I use security products which are not Norton, so as already suggested, it is most likely a problem with the settings of the latter.
