Yeh the tiny out of contex pic does indeed “ look fab “
Why is nobody using it ?

Take a look at what high end if that’s what you want to assimilate to is using as of Sept 17;( subject to change :))

Btw. It’s not my intention to pour ammonia on your parade , just passing on an observation .Why has nobody else chosen this ?

Click on the pic.

Do you mean why are Princess not using it? If so it's because they are ultra conservative.

No I mean AN Other punter in AN other ( see the pics ) yard . nobody else ( customer boats @ Genoa ) is going that colour for the caulk .As said just an observation, what I see .
Thinking Ralf Schumacher ,s leopard skinned faux effect lined master cabin boat , which took a while to sell on .:)
He liked it , nobody else had it .
If you are seemingly a serial boat changer ( nowt wrong with that ) then I would have thought a reasonable thought to shifting it on in a couple of years for minimal depreciation so specc it arround that , Paps fwd think the charter mkt .
Not for you , but the 2 nd Owner .
Sorry I can,t take my business hat off :) even in leisure !

Portofino, we all have different tastes. I like it, and so do many others. If you don't like it, that's fine too.

Hey I,am ambivalent just asking why nobody else has specced it mate !

But I would hate if it was mine @ the resale to drag and do even more of “my brains in “ (what little is left :)) and waste time having listen the broker talk of a “ new price “ after receiving feed back from a dozen or so prospectives .

Sorry it’s not what you want you want to hear - just passing on what I see .

Imho today either white ( JFM ) , trad black or the brown blend in a la SL 88 I liked With imgur above .

I like it. I have to say, I have no idea what Portofino is on about 99.9% of the time on any thread! .:ambivalence::rolleyes:

For deck caulking, I used to think along the same lines of Henry Ford with the model T.
But I must say that I like the effect in your pic - more so than white, actually.
Just wondering, is that just a sample they gave you to show the caulking, or is it a hatch/cover/whatever meant to be placed somewhere onboard?
I'm asking because in that sample, it's the teak that doesn't look first choice...

Lots of people do much more significant stuff that ultimately might make them harder to sell on but I guess for those folk life's too short to worry about such things. And Porto, I suspect that a Princess with grey caulking is probably easier to sell than an Itama with black caulking!

Would I use grey caulking on my boat? Definitely not. If I was speccing a new Targa 43 or whatever then yes I might well go for it. It would certainly complement a grey hulled / trimmed boat very well.

Big question is, will Princess allow it?!

It's just a sample for me. Interesting that you should mention the teak. I've seen this black streaking on freshly laid teak and it seems to disappear after a few weeks!
