Back in 1983/4 I used to date a girl from Sunbury and her dad had a boat on the Thames near there called Green Velvet, I think it was a Broom or similar, I remember it had an aft cabin with a raised pilot house with side doors out on to the deck and a steering postion out on the aftdeck, it had the name on the side canvass around the aft deck, I guess it was about 30ft.
We had many happy romantic weekends on the Thames and wondered if the boat is still around, anyone seen her.

Was it a Solar 32? someone will be along soon to answer this!

Just looked at used boat section and it was def a Broom 30, I seem to remember it being moored on the river side of an island somewhere along the Sunbury - Hampton stretch, this is 27 yrs ago now, as regards the 19 yr old young lady she was a real goer, had absolutely no qualms about rocking the boat in the middle of the night even when her parents were onboard in the aft cabin. I didn't know where to look over egggs and bacon in the morning, but you could have used my face as a port nav light thats for sure!
Happy days.

So she will only be 46 now, probably got a good few more good trips out left in her!

One of our forum members apparently has a sign on his Birchwood proclaiming 'If the Boats a rockin' don't come knocking!

That'll take the heat off me for a few posts I trust.... ;-)
