Feeling very smug. Left Pin Mill 0630 Sat under sail to take the last of the ebb. Wind died off Shotley so and with an ETA for the lock into Heybridge Basin I motored for a while and sailed when the wind was there, I even managed to get the cruising chute up for a while. The Wallet was peaceful, managed to cook a part baked baguette to make a fully cooked baguette and fill it with bacon for breakfast underway
Locked into Heybridge with 3 other RNSA boats. Sat night in Jolly Sailor with about 18 other RNSA folk leading to a bit of a headache Sun morning!
Lock out was 1500 on Sunday by when the wind had filled in a bit. Beat to the S of Osea then close reach to Naas and into West Mersea to pick up a mooring before supper in WMYC. Back to boat to find Alchemist had has her first (of many) groundings whilst on the mooring. Slept peacefully on the down hill side!!
Mon slipped nearly 3 hours after HW to sail back up the Wallet (well HW was very early). Motored to Colne Bar by when the wind had filled in from SSE and sailed all the way back and onto the mooring.
Back on the mooring I managed to remove the old outlet hose from the heads having bunged each end and wrapped in plastic to stop the 'blockage' from escaping. New hose went in more simply than I had imagined and I now have a working heads!!
The apologies are because there is no way having had a great sail this weekend that the weather will be pleasant for the Filling Up supper next weekend.
