Ordered a NASA clipper repeater from http://www.allgadgets.co.uk yeaterday.

Got an email this morning from John saying that if Royal Mail perform as they state then it should arrive today.

It arrived here ( In the North of Scotland ) by recorded delivery this morning.

Its nice /forums/images/icons/smile.gif when this happens.

Sent a cheque for sale item from Surrey to Shetland Is (a bit further north than you) and that arrived in 24 hours!

However in view of my local deliveries, (1st class sometime before 1600, 2nd class sometime this week) I can only believe that there are 2 different services both masquerading as GPO. One is staffed by old buggers like me, who deliver on time, every time. The other is staffed by PC zombies who cannot even spell "delivery", let alone entertain such esoteric ideas as "on time"!!! Pity, as when it works, it's unbeatable.

Funny all the parcels and recorded deliveries seem to be on time but the pre-paid letters are another thing. Sent one to an address here in the same town, sent 23rd April, arrived about 5th June, sent another to Typhoon on June 2nd, 1st class, arrived June 9th! Sent two letters to my mother in Birmingham in April and neither arrived, but a Special Delivery to the same address arrived as advertisied.
