In the aftermath of Hurricane Oostende, I noticed yesterday that the top mainsail batten had taken unannounced leave of Full Circle during Sunday night.

After getting Dougie Three Bottles (aka D3B) to have a quick measure up not 1/2 mile from our mooring, I have |Mick a call at Wilkinson Sails in Burnham.
I walked into his retail boutique not 30 minutes later, and there it was, cut to length with little black bootees on the ends, ready for collection.

A fiver. I think thats very reasonably priced.

Thanks to Mick (who also repaired a split in our main during a lunch hour between races in Burnham Week a couple of years ago for 30 quid).

We noticed a tear in the leach of the genoa beating into Brightlingsea on Saturday. Had to wait until Tuesday before we could get it off (Sun and Mon didn't drop below 30 knts) but then James Lawrence Sailmakers of that fair town fixed it within 5 hours for us.

No connection etc...

Simon
