Great Motoboat Raft Up

Ah thanks for the info Bouba. I haven’t seen those before (NTS: must spend more time on internet!). They look good. I guess you can use thrm as normal SUPs if you do not attach the hi-tech parts.
They are usually rentable from the beach sup rental people, especially if they have a Hobie flag. My wife had several goes on them before we purchased. We’ve never used it as a plain sup, but we usually have an inflatable sup on the boat for that purpose. But with increased age comes shoulder problems which makes paddling harder, plus these are faster for people of our level of fitness

I won't be there sorry ( I was only ever a "maybe" in the prior thread on this). I will actually be close by for business not pleasure, then taking off from close by at 16h30, so I will try to get an aerial shot of the great raft and post it before losing signal. Hope you all have a good day:encouragement:

Not sure there will be an actual raft up! I think the plan is to anchor close to each other. Anyway we will wave as you roar over the anchorage:D

Bouba has correctly suggested we specify a VHF channel for communication. How about Ch77?

We have suffered a major mechanical failure today. Our icemaker has stopped producing ice. We are trying to cope manfully but if anybody has ice please bring relief supplies:eek:

See you all tomorrow

Good luck to all those taking part today. Disappointly we won’t make it due to work pressures and also by chance a poorly boat. Still waiting on the mechanic!

Mike - I’m sure the lady who goes around selling ice creams, rosé, beer etc has ice for sale.

Come on team. Where are the updates!

Well a good time was had by all it seems. Forumites Bouba, Portofino, MarkNL and myself dropped our respective hooks between the Lerins, drank wine, ate food and talked bollox about boats and everything else. Three of our canine friends came along too, drank water, stole food, barked at each other and lifted their legs

Bouba brought along this strange contraption which MarkNL's son and daughter took to immediately. Can't help feeling it needed a 200hp outboard myself. Bouba's lovely ST34 behind

No sign of jfm and his 16.30 flypast although by then the wine and sun had taken its toll:D

Hi Deleted User those pics are great, looks like a really relaxed meet-up on the water, just like our lot used to do back in the day, there were a lot more of us then, but you're on much bigger boats, lol. Unfortunately our doggie didn't like boating and never got used to it, apart from being rowed ashore in the dinghy, but then didn't want to get back in again. Thanks for posting.

Looks like you had an excellent day. Good pic. Weather was wonderful today (Monday). Sorry not to fly past- my (Iberia) flight into Nice last night was cancelled meaning I only arrived at noon today, so I switched my work to the afternoon and took a v late flight back. I got about an hour on the boat this evening but not enough time to get her to Lerins. Next time.
Weather for next couple of weeks looks amazing. 35deg predicted in the afternoons this week. And still no jellyfish (unlike Balearics). I'm back on Thursday for a long weekend in Lerins/villefranche/local then a week in NW Corsica.

That looks wonderful. A pity we couldn’t make it. Great weather and a perfect setting. I hope the ice supplies made it through the day. Perhaps a mk2 version in late August?

Here’s a pic of one of the dogs. He likes his boats the same way as he likes his dinner. Big and tasty

We had a great time and would really like to thank Mike and S for doing all the hard work. It was fun putting faces to forumites. After the meet up we spent the night at anchor between the two islands and now we are in the port of Cavalaire-sur-Mer. Tomorrow it’s home and get my generator fixed:(

I have found one of those Hobie boards for sale for just over €1000 in Antibes. I showed my wife and she said no. PM for details if anyone is interested.

I have no direct interest.

Indeed it looks like he's feeling at home on those cushions.
You should consider buying him a F630 for his birthday...! :D

Its a good thing there was a towel under that mutt;)
