So before I check the forecast and buy the fuel, is it still on? The 30th July? Islands of Lerins?

Thought that’s what we agreed .
Looking Fwds to it .:encouragement:

Unless anybody has got a better idea I suggest the red dot near the shore as 1st choice .
Yellow dot on the other side if windy or recent wind as the red dot ( between ) can get rolley especially if there’s a E wind it whistles straight between the two .
How ever not really shown @ yellow dot it can be flat because it’s protected enough.

Our boats pretty distinctive

Not so sure about rafting up ? Just anchor near . Wake issues sometimes ?
Make your own judgement re wind .Normally it’s fine btw just putting a plan B ( yellow dot ) in place .

Can we all assemble aim between noon and 1 pm ?

I'm up for it. The red dot is where I usually park anyway. I will be the Ferretti 630 with the forum burgee on top. Dont mind hosting lunch on my boat but we need to agree who brings what by way of food and drink

Sounds good ! We have been working on the warming up (or should I day heating up) during last week in St Raph. About the food planning... I would like to make a salmon ceviche... its basically sliced raw salmon or similar fish in lemon / lime / olive oil and mint leaves. How many of us will be there ? We are 4 (2 kids 18 and 20 plus mom dad)

Can I just say, so that no one feels awkward, we do not expect anyone to take our dog on their boat. (He’ll just swim round and round)

How's the burgee fairing Mike?

Its brand new Pete. I bought 3 a while back and I'm on my 2nd one now, the first one having had an impromptu burial at sea some time over last winter!

Thats good he can eat the jellyfish around the boat for us

As I said we're happy to host lunch on our boat so everybody is welcome. So we've got salmon ceviche, quiche, tomato & mozarella salad and cake. Sounds tasty already! We will bring some baguettes, general salad stuff and ham/cheese. We believe we have enough crockery/cutlery for 12 people so that should be OK. Can I ask each couple to bring a bottle of wine and a bottle of water please plus beer if anybody drinks it.

We will aim to be anchored somewhere near Porto's red spot on Monday before 12.00. Forecast looks good although possibility it might blow up a touch on Monday evening. Look forward to seeing everyone!

I won't be there sorry ( I was only ever a "maybe" in the prior thread on this). I will actually be close by for business not pleasure, then taking off from close by at 16h30, so I will try to get an aerial shot of the great raft and post it before losing signal. Hope you all have a good day:encouragement:

Dog photo competition

We’ll also bring some wine including a bottle of bio rose for S.
Interesting paddle board bouba. Can you tell us a bit more please? It has handlebars, right? Do they steer it? What propels it? Just dogfarts? The dog looks very content :encouragement:

Phew! Nice of you to have clarified, 'cause that's exactly what I was wondering after reading the first para of your post...

Looking fwd to a forum report on the event. Have fun, everybody! :encouragement:

It’s a Hobie Mirage Eclipse. The fish like fins are operated by lifting your feet up and down like a stair climber. The handle bars are fixed, steering is performed by squeezing the leavers left and right to turn a small rudder, there are no brakes or reverse. But there is a shallow water, beaching mode. My wife can do a steady five knots, she goes miles on it and absolutely loves it. It lives permanently on the flybridge and I crane it down it’s a solid board not an inflatable. The flippers and handle bars and rudder live in the lazaret and all clip on in seconds. I can heartily recommend them but are about €3000 each. They come in two lengths, short one is more manœuvrable and easier to stow on deck, the long one is faster. We have the long one

Ah thanks for the info Bouba. I haven’t seen those before (NTS: must spend more time on internet!). They look good. I guess you can use thrm as normal SUPs if you do not attach the hi-tech parts.
