Great boat name!

Possibly Piers

I seem to remember him saying that there was another boat with the same name but that was some time ago

There's a red hull V39 of the same name on Lough Derg on the Shannon. I assume it is his old boat. Recently had the red gel coat re-sprayed and is looking very nice indeed.

Yes. Piers's old v39 called Play D'Eau had dark burgundy red hull sides. We used to be neighbours in Berthon Lymington, yonks ago

Hi Everyone,

Yes, it's our Fleming 55 and we took the name Play d'eau from our previous Princess V39 (burgundy hull).

The origin of the name started with a previous boat we had, a Cougar predator 35 which was 35' of long, narrow and low hull, which went like cazy - 55pmh on twin AQAD41s.

We called her L'eau Profile.

Then, when changing to a new boat, the whole family came together (me, my wife and our four sons). We wanted to keep the play on the French word for water, and after an age, our youngest son (Toby - some of you may know him) suddenly said, 'It's Dad's new toy - it has to be Play d'eau.

So, we registered it on part 1 and the rest is history.
