I agree that there were studio inserts, but the live action sequences of the boats are terrific.

Wonder how many takes were involved to complete the entire chase scene. The little yellow pursuit boat with the 50 silverband Merc. manual tilt, was doing some fancy jumps over dry land and logs.
No doubt cutting edge stuff in it's day though.

and pointed out that no head wear apparel I've ever tried, other than a motorboat monthly freebie with a built in stretchy cord and crocodile clip, or one of those mountaineering hats with built in ear flaps, has ever stayed on the boat, never mind my head, at speed
