Does anyone out there know about (or has experience of) GPS tracker devices for yachts ? They are becoming common on cars and trucks, how about Yachts ?
My yacht would be fairly easy to steal from its mooring and I've heard that a tracker devices are coming down to about £250. As I understand it if the yacht was moved from its mooring the tracker would send a message by phone to alert the movement. The yacht could be tracked anywhere in the world that has a cell phone network.
What make and model have people installed, what are the installation and monthly charges and do you have any comments about where to site the device, power consumption, and whether they work ?
