GPS security tracker antitheft

Its so confusing....
Does anyone know a good anti theft/tracking device for around 100 pounds?
I thought I would ask here as if I dont ....I can imagine buying one and then finding it has some show stopping faults etc etc.

I bought a couple of the cheap Chinese ones. Around £55 when I bought them. Great for tracking boats and teenagers vehicles ( amongst other things ) and monitor power connection and 2 external contacts as well as having a cut-off switch capability.

Mine came with internal rechargeable batteries so they stay alive for a couple of hours even when disconnected from the main battery. Can be talked to via SMS messages or across the internet to an IP address allowing real time tracking.

This is similar to the ones I bought.

Thanks, thats interesting.... it seems they rang in price from 50 pounds... 120 pounds, 250 pounds . I have trouble working out what the big difference is.

I have a leda compact from diplomat. Seems to do the trick. Has geofence which a lot of cheap chinese don't have.

Get yourself a sim card from Giffgaff and put £10 on it and providing you program the unit not to text you all the time the credit should last a while

GPS tracker - So I've narrowed it down a bit

I had a look at the chinese imports and they look really good... also with geo fence and the possibility to track in google earth etc. I think its important that its not too obvious so small and covert is good. With the sirf3 chipset they should work down below I think... I did some testing and the newer gps units are not needing such a clear view of the sky as the older units.

At the moment I am trying to decide between this and the Leda compact recommended by daveyw.
