When I went down the Thames to Chatham recently with Clive Neigbour on his 'deinitely not a cupboard' Broom Crown 37 he just wouldnt stop rabbiting on about how good his Electronic chart system and Tsunamis Navigator are. I had to agree with him (of course...after all I was on HIS boat -complete with new fridge but thats another story)....in fact I was so impressed I've now got Tsunamis Navigator myself and I can replay the whole of our trip downriver whenever I please....I'm even trying to get round to cross linking the log of the trip with all the piccies I took.
Anyway, to cut a long story short, as my boat is on the non tidal Thames and theres no nav charts above Teddington I decided there had to be a way that us inlanders could play with big boys toys so i set up the GPS with Microsofts Autoroute software and I have to say it really works very well. You can see a couple of piccies My P32 and Boaters Picture Gallery

1. I've got a friend who lives in East Molesly
2. Re the after picture showing helm. Where an earth did that wheel come from. Looks like the sort of thing you'd nick from the wall of a pub! Deffo preferred the old metal job.

Well I'm glad I'm not the only one that sad!

I've even got waypoints to get me from my mooring at home to the one in the park (circa 400 yards) in case I get cut off by fog on the way back from walking the dog.
