GPS Memory Battery!

Does anyone have information regarding the replacement of a GPS Reciever Back-Up Battery?

I have an ST50 dGPS Unit which works well once left on for some 4Hours before it locates itself, but when you power it down & re-power it, you have to wait another 4hours or so for it to re-locate itself.

A new unit is about £200 vs a hopeful fix with a relacement battery!

Open the unit up and find out what type of battery is fitted, then go to somewhere like Battert=y Force or Radio Spares, and see if there is the same type there.

I've just changed a soldered-in battery in my old Fax machine.

our st50 failed for the same reason a few years back. i took it to raymarine for repair. in the end i bought an new exchange unit from them at a fraction of the cost.
