Posted also on PBO, apologies for multiple post.

I've been asked to run a course for beginners by 2 of my crew who are studying RYA shorebased courses.

This will cover what it is, how it works up to what info the devilish little screen tells you. Bit about installations and pitfalls. Hands on stuff also. You'll have the benefit of some pro equipment with big screens to illustrate what the satellites are up to.

Anyone else interested - would like to get it up to 6 or 8? It will be in Emsworth mid week, prob 6pm start sometime in the next 3 weeks. I'll provide course notes and expect you to buy me a beer.

Tome,

I believe you have to be careful under the Trade Description Act. You've advertised a GPS for Dummies course, but you neglected to mention that it is twinned with the highly respected University of Emsworth Drinking for Experts course.

East Hampshire Trading Standards Officers are firing up their Hillman Avengers and setting off in your direction even as I type.

Re: trade description

Professor Savage is one of the attendees, can't deny. He's currently doing his YM theory on Wednesday evenings to keep him out of the pub. This means he pops in for a quick couple, ambles along to Chi for the course and then resumes his rightful place at the bar regaling all with extracts of the colregs.

Stout fellows, these Emsworth chappies!

Re: trade description

I thought the professor would have been OK with the GPS - Or sure he would have had a bigger one?
