GPS and the coastal day sailor.

Me again.

This time i am looking for an outline on the use of GPS.

I want to spend the winter looking for bargins etc.

I am taking the day skipper theory which will, I believe touch on GPS. But to make sense of things I'd like to understand handhelds, fixed, chart ploters etc, how do they relate to perhaps a PC or the software i see is avaliable for a hand held.

Its as good as any where to start. There are also links to begginers guides etc.
Also have a look at ybw books and search for GPS, you will find lots of guides as well, I also think the RYAS publish a small begginers guide.
