I need as a matter of urgency need to replace my 2 house batteries. Does anyone known where the best place to purchase these items, based on either price or service.

I bought my replacements from Boatman's World on the right, outside the marina. They all speak good English and Petros (Peter) is the CA HLR in Corfu (6% discount) However, others have said that they got good value at the chandler down by the old port in Corfu Town. With three suppliers in Gouvia, BW, Frank Gerrity at his Nautilus franchise in the main street of Kondokali (LEFT out of marina and a few yards) and the chandlery in the marina which used to call itself "Nautilus" (NO connection with Frank) when run by the Tolis family but is now run by an Athens firm, there is good competition and opportunity to shop around. Batteries for boats are expensive in Greece! Also, watch out for batteries of indeterminable origin. We were OK as Peter supplied Exides for the house bank and a Bosch for the starter and windlass..

They do seem very expensive in the chandleries around the marina (Boatman's World is best), also in a shop close to the bus station in town that I tried. Ended up bringing them out from England, by car.

When I replaced my three domestic batteries in Leros three years ago I was offered Bosch sealed 'mixed use' ones off the shelf, supposedly able to cope with leisure use as well as starting, or wait for wet cell ones from Athens at greater cost. I went for the Bosch ones, which are performing very well.
I now have the same ones in the motorsailer back home, recommended by the chandler. They seem very good there as well.

On the way into Corfu town, in one of the shops on the right hand side, after the Port turning/traffic lights is an excellent battery shop.
He'll take away your old ones, and deliver the new ones...oh one more thing...He's cheep as chips.
The shop itself, sort of sticks out into the pavement and is easy to find. It's also opposite the VW/Audi dealership.

Thats where i got mine - 2x230 ah for 800 euro...with a europe wide warranty of at least a year maybe 3 plus 20 euro for the return taxi which transported batteries and shopping trolley to cart them to the pontoon...
Cash gets better price than plastic.

I bought 2 Exide 140 ah from Boatman at a cost of €300 each. Delivered to boat and old ones taken away. Less than 3 hrs from ordering to being delivered.
