Hi, thanks to those that helped with this gjgm for his advice and halycon for advice and help on the day!. The steep hill was a breeze, wasn't as bad as I had built up in my mind. Here are some picks of it on the trailer and halycon holding onto Ballistix whilst I sort out the trailer (good power washer facility there!).

We arrive on the 2nd July for a week, heres hoping to just a few days of nice weather! Hope to see anyone there for a chinwag and drink.

once a trailer boater, always a trailer boater.... I just look at the pictures and think how great that slipway looks. Even with a pontoon to walk your boat off the trailer...! /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif (I see they don't want anyone mooring up on the pontoon... no cleats!! but at least it keeps it clear)

... I wonder how long it will be until _Gary_ gets to Mylor!

The answer is no for petrol. The fuel barge in Falmouth has gone now and that was the only other source of petrol available in Carrick Roads. I do the jerry can, dinghy, mooring, fill up, dinghy routine now as I refuse to pay Mylor's prices. Takes a while but way cheaper.

OK guys, looking on Google Earth. Are the beaches at:-

Maenporth
Gyllyngvase
Towan Beach
Flushing area (this looks really nice)

All, 1) anchor friendly 2) don't dry? 3) any gotchas

We will have a few kids with us on some of the days we are there and could do with any tips for beaches, fun!

Towan Beach is lovely. Quiet beach, not much else there apart from toilets a short stroll away. Bit rocky in places.
Gylly beach is a very popular sandy beach with a great spot to eat. It's called a cafe but it's not a chips and sausage type place; does tremendous food.
Flushing is OK. Sticky Prawn is a highly recommended place to eat but you'll need to book. Not been up that bit of the river for a while. I think there's a small landing area for dinghies.
I'd recommend a trip right up Carrick Roads past the King Harry Ferry. Anchor or pick up a mooring at Tolverne by the Smuggler Cottage or go a bit further up to Tregothnan Reach and pick up a pontoon berth. If the tide is favourable you should be able to dinghy up the Ruan.It's our favourite spot and where we spend many weekends.

Thanks Rapher. Will work out these place and do some research tonight in prep. PhotoDog. Sure thing, tap me on the shoulder or wave at the boat, failing that we are in one of the apartments behind the cafe thingy at Mylor Harbour.

Glad you got down ok You wont regret the area its fantastic. If you go further out watch for floatsum in the see. I didnt and picked up a large rope from fishing boat that knackered my port drive props and drive shaft.

On the hard waiting for repairs hope to be afloat by friday. Big bill but insurance will cover hopefully. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
 
Ballistix...... Nice outfit, hope the holiday goes well.

How does the trailer load the boat? Maybe a winter project could see a transversely mounted, teflon covered frame on the aft end off the trailer, to follow the deadrise of the boat.
Either stand alone, or incorporated into the rear bilge support pads to create self centreing, during the loading process.

If you wanted to go crazy, you could continue up the trailer with several more and end up with a full drive-on system!!!!!
